Tax Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tax Manager to oversee compliance, tax planning, and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in tax compliance with a strong understanding of complex tax laws, including estate planning and non-profit accounting. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills who can optimize tax strategies across various business units. The Tax Manager will lead a team of professionals to support financial goals and compliance initiatives.
Duties
- Oversee all tax compliance activities, ensuring accurate and timely filing of federal and state tax returns.
- Develop and implement comprehensive tax strategies, including estate planning, mergers & acquisitions, and asset management, to optimize the organizational tax position.
- Utilize accounting software like QuickBooks, Ultra Tax, and Checkpoint.
- Provide guidance on tax implications related to property transactions, investment strategies, non-profit reporting, and all other public accounting activities.
- Conduct research and skills development within the team to improve overall tax knowledge.
Utilize AI to improve processes and create efficiencies.
Requirements
- CPA certification required.
- Extensive experience in tax accounting with a strong background in compliance.
- Proven expertise in associated software such as QuickBooks and UltraTax or similar tax preparation platforms.
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting standards, mergers & acquisitions processes, and property sale transactions is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts, including debits & credits, balance sheet account reconciliations, account analysis, and financial statement review.
- Excellent work ethic and analytic skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
